Alvita White is someone that people love instantly. She first came to HRI through our Affordable Housing Advocacy Project. Alvita, a true leader and activist, was determined to make life better for Berkeley Housing Authority residents. She and others took an inactive non-profit and reformed and renamed it. Today B-HOPE (Berkeley Home Ownership Program for Everyone) generates training and homeownership opportunities for Berkeley Housing Authority Residents. HRI is proud to have been a part of B-HOPE’s success in the purchase of a townhouse by a Section 8 recipient in the City of Berkeley (a significant accomplishment).

Alvita has both volunteered and worked at HRI. She has moved onto bigger and better things. We look forward to her success.
