Lizarraga
Virginia Lizarraga has lived in the Monument Corridor (City of Concord) for twelve years. In her capacity as a community outreach worker with Catholic Charities, Virginia has been part of a new project since November 2004 which focuses on helping individuals and families gain access to social services and maintain their housing. She provides case management for families.
She used to organize homeownership workshops for first-time homebuyers and used to be an active member of the Monument Community Partnership. Currently, Virginia serves onthe Monument Community Partnership Board of Directors and First Five Community Corridor Board of Directors.
In order to work more closely with families and understand them better, she obtained a Child Development Associate Certificate. Virginia (also known as Vicky) keeps emergency food and clothing in the trunk of her car wherever she goes to reach out to help people with social services resources and advocacy. Vicky believes that individuals and families need to learn what services are available to meet their needs.
Vicky received a Master's Degree in Multicultural Arts and Theology at the Franciscan School of Theology at UC Berkeley.
